1. Acceptance

By creating an account, accessing, or using SpeakBali, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website.

2. What SpeakBali Provides

SpeakBali is a language-learning platform designed to help users learn Balinese through lessons, challenges, and interactive exercises. Some features may require a paid subscription.

3. Learning Disclaimer

SpeakBali provides educational content only. We do not guarantee fluency, accuracy in every context, or specific outcomes. Language and cultural usage may vary by region, speaker, and situation. You are responsible for how you use what you learn.

4. Live Translator & Partner Discounts

If offered, the live translator feature is provided as a convenience and may be automated or assisted. Translations may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate in some contexts. Do not rely on the live translator for emergencies, medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical situations.

Premium partner discounts (if available) are offered by third-party businesses. Availability, eligibility, and terms may change. SpeakBali is not responsible for third-party products, services, pricing, or fulfilment.

5. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform.
• If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
• You must provide accurate details and keep them updated.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• You must keep your login credentials secure.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate others.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Platform.
• Scrape, copy, or mass-download content, or bypass paywalls or access controls.
• Use the Platform to send spam or malicious content.

7. Content & Intellectual Property

The Platform, lessons, audio, text, design, and branding are owned by SpeakBali or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Platform for your personal learning only.

8. User Content (If You Submit Any)

If the Platform allows you to submit content (such as feedback, notes, or community posts), you retain ownership of your content. You grant SpeakBali a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and use it to operate and improve the Platform. You must not submit content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights.

9. Subscriptions, Payments, and Renewals

Paid plans are processed through third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe). If you subscribe, your plan may renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. Prices, features, and availability may change, but we will provide notice where required by law.

10. Cancellations & Refunds

You can cancel anytime through your account billing page. Unless required by law, refunds are not guaranteed for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us at support@speakbali.com.

11. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Platform, or create security/legal risk. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Account deletion may not remove records required for legal, security, or payment compliance.

12. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that content will always be accurate or current.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakBali is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakBali's total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of AUD $100 or the amount you paid to SpeakBali in the preceding 12 months.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SpeakBali, its officers, contractors, and affiliates from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Platform, your content, or your breach of these Terms.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
